It's halfway day of 2026: At Midday on 2nd July, we're 182.5 days into the year with 182.5 days to go. To celebrate, I thought I'd find a "halfway" coin to share. Here's one:
a "HALF" Sol from Peru. Issued 1935 - 1965 so 15 years either side of halfway through the century - Mine was issued in 1944 (just over halfway towards halfway through it's run? Maybe that's stretching it a bit).
Anyway, it's a coin I've always liked, and one of the earlier ones I added to the site, so do have a read: https://coinofnote.com/peru-1-2-sol-1944/

Edit: Note to self: When posting both sides of a coin, make sure it actually IS each side.... If anyone has a Peruvian coin with the coat of arms on both sides, please do share!
