There has been lots of commentary on Linus Torvalds' remarks at the (Linux Kernel) Maintainers Summit, so I won't go there except to say that I agree with most of the negative takes I've seen.
However, when the participants were asked to summarize their worst pain point in kernel development, Thomas Gleixner's comment struck me. As written up by Jonathan Corbet of Linux Weekly News:

To highlight that: "In the LLM world, people say that they don't have time for design and, besides, the code works."
That, to me, is one of the most concise and understandable predictions of future technical debt I have ever seen.
