This new story about the looted Van Gogh that the Metropolitan Museum of Art "deaccessioned" in 1956 is an interesting one.

The family never stood a chance.

"Olive Picking", attributed to Van Gogh, was quietly sold to a Greek shipping magnate who stashed it away for decades. When it popped up at an exhibition in the 21st century the family finally learned where it was.
