  4. For music drivers in #gbcompo23, #hugedriver has easily overtaken #gbtplayer, but gbt is hanging in more than might be expected given the improved workflow and output hUGEDriver has.

    No showings for #devsound and #gbsoundsystem this time.

  8. Finished that school scene this morning, phew! 😌

    It took me more time than expected because of the school building but also because I reached the limit of maximum 192 repeated 8x8 tiles

    That's a GameBoy limitation apparently and I learned it the hard way.. When I did try to render that scene on my GBC, it actually crashed, oops! 🤭😅

  9. Finished overworld prototype. The actor location nodes are copy/pastable and easily configured to connect to the "tree". The idea is to do a randomized, branching, pick-your-poison map similar to FTL or Inscryption with location "types". The other location types will probably end up as simple coin-flip style events. Cash stat is bugged lol.

  10. I made a small mockup for #GBCompo23 jam

    A top down RPG where you'd play a monster kid that must wear a cardboard on his head so that he can attend school classes

  12. Added customer cycling, customer patience, eating, payment, and anger.

    I'm not sure sure what everyone else's experience is, but I'm finding it kind of hard to keep the script bloat down with GB studio. I guess it's just the medium.

    I'm thinking I'll need to replace emotes with sprite states or pallete swaps.

  13. Slowly making progress with the cooking minigame, was able to refactor alot of the logic out of the actors into reusable scripts. Still need to sort out cook times and other mechanics. At least we have better placeholders now.
