La Gateway API se está posicionando como la solución preferida para la gestión del tráfico en Kubernetes, reemplazando gradualmente a Ingress. Esta transición es significativa ya que Ingress ha sido una herramienta fundamental desde los inicios de Kubernetes.

  2. #Kubernetes Gateway API: a sobering look

My biggest pain with ingresses are regex redirects.
So many of us relied on the notorious #nginx annotations or even deployed separate nginx instances for more complex redirects.

With #GatewayAPI we have HttpRoutes with RequestRedirect filters but they don't have a path type regex.

    How to migrate nginx annotations?
The go-to solutions seem proprietary CRDs like #traefik middleware.

    So, no Gateway API, then?

Please tell me that I'm missing something!

  3. @Larvitz How is Step CA? Are you coming from another CA solution?

Been thinking about running #stepca in my #kubernetes cluster, but have been apprehensive because of how many features seem to be gated behind smallstep's proprietary version. Would love to have this integrated with #certmanager and using the #tpm on my nodes. Was going to do a rearchitecting of my entire #auth and #cryptography stack when I switch from the deprecated #Ingress API to the #GatewayAPI

  6. Oh wow! I had some weird stuff in the GatewayAPI config for HTTP to HTTPS redirect which was blocking ACME.

Now I have CertManager correctly issuing certificates from my private StepCA, using the http01 solver behind GatewayAPI! Blog coming (eventually). 🎉

I'm looking forward to connecting with folks working on different projects. People have been quite busy building out Headlamp Kubernetes UIs for ecosystem tooling and standards like and
