@tracefree For the last few years I've been feeling that every game must seriously explain why its main character is killing people on a regular basis as part of their typical activities.
Nothing wrong with characters who end up killing someone, but that should be a major plot point in the overall narrative every time. If that's something that regular people in this word just do, I want to see the game acknowledge how fucked up its world is.

It’s already the middle of NaNoWriMo, and I’m curious what you’re working on! I spent two NaNoWriMos writing the 100K+ words that are in Terranova (wow, that’s a lot!). It was the first big project that I took on, and I can't tell you how many rounds of editing I went through. It's one of my most edited works because I was so concerned about getting it right.

I am sorry for the Halo devs who are now upset about Trump and ICE using their game for fascist propaganda— sorry, not surprised. This is a good example of why you must be vigilant as a game writer about your game fantasy. Your political views are not a safeguard. You can be against fascism, but if you keep writing military games where guns are cool, you mess up. Even as a satire! Guns will stay cool, ironically or not. #GameWriting #NarrativeDesign
