📣 Newly blogged: I write about secondary disease gain, deer hunting (no animals were harmed), #FrøydisHaavardsholm, reuse, #BookIllustration, and myself in the latest post on the #NorwegianExlibris weblog https://exlibris.hypotheses.org/

I'm writing 2 longer blog posts in parallel:
✍️ Part 6 of my 24 Objects Series, where I take a look at an exlibris exhibition in 1942, &
👩🎨 An artist portrait of #FrøydisHaavardsholm, who created 25 exlibris, once a leading figure in the Norwegian #ArtsAndCrafts movement.I only have horribly low-resolution images available because I am stuck at home with a broken leg and cannot digitise them.
While we wait, read about #NorwegianExlibris on my blog https://exlibris.hypotheses.org/

Today, I identified 11 #ExLibris by Norwegian artist and decorator #FrøydisHaavardsholm. Haavardsholm was an immensely productive and very well-received artist in the 1930s and 1940s. She designed and crafted majestic glass windows for several churches all over Norway and was renowned for her book illustrations.
As far as we know, she created 20 exlibris.
Two weeks ago, the #NationalMuseum showcased her and shed light at her disappearance from the art history canon: https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/utstillinger-og-arrangementer/nasjonalmuseet/arrangementer/2025/10/kunsten-er-na-i-skyggene-av-de-store-froydis-haavardsholm/
