A huge influence on the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris revived block printing and vegetable dyeing. He set up looms for weaving tapestry and hand-knotting carpets in his home. His designs were also translated into stained glass. He was a knowledgeable textile historian, and fascinated by medieval history and medieval architecture.
Morris was the most successful textile designer and manufacturer of his day, with two London shops selling silk, cotton, and gauze. He designed and decorated parts of what’s now the Victoria & Albert. This museum has 1,100 objects connected to Morris—mainly textile and wallpaper, in various colours and scales, for interior decorating. Copyright on his repeating patterns of vegetation, flowers, and birds, recently expired, which fuelled a revival of these textile designs.

Autistic online spaces have developed to be more than channels for lectures and discussions. Fun and creativity, arts and crafts are essential parts of this scene.
Online Autscape 2026 is not just about words, but also about having fun and letting your creativity flourish. Part of this are the workshops provide as part of the programme.
SATURDAY 7th Feb ARTS&CRAFTS
At 13:00 GMT, you can join Laura Buckland Mason for a Mini Folded Art Books Workshop. You will learn how to decorate, fold, glue and finish two different types of simple folded book, each made from a single sheet of paper.Laura has really valued spending time in autistic spaces ever since she first attended an in-person Autscape in 2016. The supportive, non-judgemental environments have helped her to discover the things that are important to her - and one of those things is art! She loves exploring new art materials and techniques, filling sketchbooks, taking part in communal art, craft and writing projects that bring people together, facilitating and attending various art groups and workshops, and exchanging art with people around the world.
At 19:30 GMT, you can join Chiara for AutArt - a Collage creating Workshop. Chiara will guide you to create your own collage. You can work digitally (on Canva/PowerPoint/FreeForm…) or traditionally (using paper, photos, magazines, newspaper, scrapbook paper, washi tape, stickers…). You can use what you have at home and be creative.
Chiara is a 24-year-old autistic teacher livening in Vienna, Austria. Some audience members may know her from Autscape 2023, 2024, and 2025.

My ADHD is showing. I finished this before Christmas, even took the finished photo, and then completely forgot to share it.
I strongly recommend felting as an easy, low impact craft for even the worst of tired days! It's also very easy to felt over mistakes, making it great for the self critical!

#CW for nude resin moulds and "rope"
The serpentine tie is basically just a series of cow hitches strategically arranged. It's simple, infinitely flexible, and I love that cow hitches always look like little grabbers. Makes me all giggly inside.
New rope tops may still find it a good challenge because if the tension is wrong, it will sag in the wrong places.
Some folks prefer crotch rope, but I generally don't, at least not with ties that are meant to be comfortable. I recommend keeping it to the side which has far more utility in my opinion, and is more comfortable.

You do the first color in one wax and then cut out the parts you want and press them into the seal. Then you press it into another layer of wax for multiple colors. Some people take this to a very high level. I learned from this video:
(I really enjoy the quiet style of 하든 Harden's videos. She is always exploring new types of wax and new ways to use seals.)

Fumbling through felting tip #2: the hoop is optional!
And it's very easy to correct mistakes by felting over it! A little work can go a long way, so it's fast, too!
You'll also break needles. You may or may not go through periodic spells of 'gleeful stabbies' that precipitate a needle break.
I give it a 9/10 recommended for the #disabled and #chronicillness crowd.

I am so unbelievably frustrated. I purchased an Epson ET-2800 printer to convert to sublimation. It works, but not on all my blanks which are dubbed as sublimation on Amazon.
1. I'm ready to give up. I'm literally in tears.
2. I need a one-stop shop for RELIABLE sublimation blanks that's NOT Cricut because they're way overpriced.
3. There are way too many resources on the web that are all over the place. I'm tired of searching and reading and reading.
4. I've been watching videos, but again too many.
5. ChatGPT hasn't been able to fix (though it has helped a wee bit) and I'm just over it. -
