I must admit that I'm fairly disappointed with #Fairphone for retiring the #Fairphone3 in summer after <7 years: no more software updates and no spare parts.
While unofficial operating systems (with continued updates) like /e/OS and iodéOS remain available for the #FP3, repairing its hardware will no longer be possible. This is especially frustrating for those who bought the FP3 later than 2019.
And the 50€ discount they offered is only valid for buying a new FP6 but not for FP3 spare parts. 🤡

Ah, ça y est, #Fairphone a annoncé la fin officielle du support du #Fairphone3. Ça comprend l'arrêt de la vente des pièces. Il n'y aura plus de mises à jour du logiciel, il faut donc changer d'OS pour rester en sécurité. LineageOS propose Android 15, avec encore des mises à jour de sécurité. /e/os est encore sous Android 13 pour le #FP3, donc sans mises à jour de sécurité aujourd'hui.
Dans tous les cas, ça ne comprend pas les màjs de sécurité des différents firmwares :/

Ici : un #FP3 de 2ᵈᵉ main, petit prix, avec /e/OS : impec’ pour mes besoins.
Pas de lenteur gênante, mais j'ai un usage très léger.Réserve : les photos ne sont pas terribles et le fix GPS met longtemps à se faire.
Ma femme possède un FP3+ reconditionné également, également en /e/OS (on vient d'avoir une mise à jour → c'est toujours bien maintenu), et elle le branche sur la voiture avec Android Auto sans difficulté majeure (pour exploiter #AntennaPod et #CoMaps )

Je suis un peu dépité de voir qu'aucun #Fairphone n'est supporté par #Droidian …
(et probablement aucune chance que mon « vieux » #FP3 soit supporté un jour — je trouve ça carrément triste que les matériels un peu « anciens » ne puissent pas bénéficier de ce genre de solutions, qui me semblent pourtant philosophiquement cohérentes avec la durabilité, le #permacomputing et la sobriété)

Ich habe mein @fairphone III mit @murena e seit 2021 und es läuft seit damals reibungslos. Inzwischen ist die ganze Familie damit ausgestattet #FP3 oder #FP4 plus #Murena
Sowohl die Hardware als auch die Software machen keine Probleme. Updates kommen regelmäßig und automatisch.
Das Thema Android ist natürlich problematisch, aber für den Moment ist es trotzdem um Längen besser als bei Apple oder vollwertigem Google zu bleiben. Allein die KI sind der Horror.

@waldschnecke I'm using a #Faiphone since 2019. First #FP3, now #FP5. In general they are solid phones, but I think the camera is probably mid class (I don't know the camera of the #FP6).

Ich habe Sofortupload auf dem Handy aktiviert, damit er meine Photos sofort auf die Cloud kippt, das macht er auch. Irgendwann. Und ich kann das auch ums verrecken nicht anstoßen.

@RobinMck I bought #FP3 a few years ago - the "fair" costs more than the average "phone" but it adds to your ethics and with /e/OS it is de-googled and free of bloatware. which adds to your sanity.
with app-lounge i can install any apps i want.
unfortunately the location services are a bit poor, in rural areas it takes a while to find its spot. but i am sure thats better with #fp5

Por si alguien se encuentra en las mimas cambiando la ROM de un Fairphone 3 siguiendo las escuetas instrucciones de @iode :
https://gitlab.iode.tech/ota/ota#how-to-flash-fairphone-fp3-fp3-fp4-fp5Cuando lleguéis al paso 3 "Type fastboot oem unlock", hay que darle en el móvil a que "si queréis prenderle fuego a todo lo que hay en el dispositivo" y ya se va a reiniciar.
Luego en teoría tienes que ejecutar en el paso 5 "flash-all.sh" de la carpeta que previamente habíamos descargado de nuestro modelo, pero a mi no me iba
(se quedaba esperando en infinito el script).
Pruebo a iniciar de nuevo el modo Fastboot, ya que ha iniciado el Android Stock de fábrica. Sigue sin ir.SOLUCIÓN: Entrar en el Android Stock, volver a activar el "modo depuración USB" en las opciones de desarrollador y entonces si reiniciar al modo Fastboot y ya funciona el script "flash-all.sh" correctamente y puedes tener tu sistema más libre de Google.
El paso 6, más que opcional es redundante, ya que el propio script lanza el "oem lock" y hay que elegir en el móvil si lo quieres cerrar. Yo le he dicho que si para comprobar si las OTAs funcionan o me tocará borrarlo todo de nuevo para actualizar.

Jetzt geht es nicht, da #Browser #Firefox nicht unterstützt wird. Dann warten wir halt weiter bis #SwissID abgelöst ist durch #AGOVaccess.

@vinishor I use my FP3 since four years and I only changed the main camera module to update the camera to FP3+. The other camera still worked. Two days ago my FP3 received a software update with safety issues. #fairphone #fp3 #FP3Plus

Immer wenn ich das Diensthandy bei mir habe, wundere ich mich, wie Leute es mit einem out-of-the-box #google #android aushalten?! So viele unnötige Apps, die nicht deinstalliert/deaktiviert werden können, ständig irgendwelche Pop-ups und Benachrichtigungen, von Dingen die ich nicht brauch. Der Browser, wie wenn ich eine mobile Werbetafel mithätte. Und ständig laufen Tracker mit...
Long story short: Da mag ich mein #FP3 mit #e/OS gleich noch viel lieber!

Mal #LineageOS 19 auf's #MiA1 geworfen - wird ja eh nicht mehr verwendet, kann man 'mit rumspielen!
Tut bisher sehr erträglich.
Ist jetzt nur etwas deprimierend dass das abgelegte Gerät neuere Software verwendet als das #FP3 das es ersetzte.

Almost #BrokenFreeFromGoogle! My new #Fairphone3 does not use a Google account but instead relies on #FDroid, #Blokada, and #AuroraStore as a #PlaystoreProxy for apps like #Wegeheld and #ReplacePlastic. @Fairphone Hope #FairphoneOpen comes soon for #FP3!
