  1. Another map my lovely players went through yesterday. It was fun, it was chaotic, prayers were prayed and specters were killed. Who do the graves belong to and what's in the tower? That will remain a mystery for now...

But if you want to use the map in your stories in #foundryvtt feel free to. It's hand drawn, ink on paper.

I use the grid from foundry, the road was about 2-3 squares wide.

Overall... everyone survived. Have fun on your adventures!

  2. Curious if anyone is using #Grimoire for #nextcloud to game on? I can't even find any screenshots of it.

I've already got #foundryvtt and nextcloud running on my server, I don't dislike foundry but having something integrated with the platform I already use for video chat might be nice. Plus, I have an extensive library on nextcloud.

  3. I've been working on adding support for Robots to MgT2e on FoundryVTT for a while, along with support for the new vehicle rules. Though they aren't finished (or anywhere close to it), I've decided to push things out as they are so people can try them out.

Latest v0.22 version of MgT2e for Foundry has the added support, plus there's a video to go over what works.

  5. Once again running into the limits of FoundryVTT, which is very much designed for handling small dungeon maps. Running SciFi, with vehicles and weapon ranges of hundreds of metres, I need maps to cover a kilometre+. But, I don't want to use a huge grid scale, because I still need good resolution for when characters are close to each other in areas of interest.

The main problem is that rulers are unreadable when zoomed out, so you can't see range to targets.

  6. A quick update on my work on Mongoose Traveller on Foundry. I've been adding support for the new Vehicle rules, plus got sidelined into supporting Robots.

  7. @rachaelspooky After running Starfinder 1e (which is kind of PF1.5) I got tired of complex rulesets which contradicted themselves/were incomplete; PF2 fits together like clockwork despite being A Whole Lot.

The #foundryVTT module for it is also _amazing_ btw, it's the flagship module for the platform, if that makes any difference to you.

  8. I tried doing this in #Dungeonscrawl which would be even easier but unfortunately, the export function in DS for multiple map files isn't compatible with the importer in #FoundryVTT - the latter tries to add all walls for all levels. I could do each of the levels as an individual file I guess but that would be awkward to organise.

Also I can work offline with #Dungeondraft which is useful when taking my laptop out to pubs etc.

  9. One of my favourite quick tips for #FoundryVTT is loading up one page dungeons with all the walls ready to go so I can have infinite maps ready at a moment's notice.

This video walks you through the process :youtu.be/cVo8zeIlsiU?si=NzXN0S

  10. Nobody has complained that MgT2e is having problems on FoundryVTT v14 yet, so I'll set 14 as verified on the next release. Just pushed out 0.21.1, which has a few bug fixes and support for storing multiple fighters in a docking bay.

At some point, I need to have an option to launch fighter squadrons directly from a carrier, but not yet.

In the meantime, I'm doing more work on adding support for the new Vehicle rules.

  11. Someone raised a question on Reddit about how damage worked in my Mongoose Traveller system for Foundry. So it seemed like a good topic to do a short video on.

  12. I have a problem with #FoundryVTT

Is anyone aware of a working replacement for the Simple Fog module? Specifically what I need is to cover my gridless city map completely with fog, and then "paint away" the fog with a brush as the party explores. The Simple Fog module worked great for this, but it doesn't work with the current version of #Foundry, unfortunately.

  13. A long weekend, so time for another development diary video for Mongoose Traveller 2e on FoundryVTT. This coincides with the 0.20 release, which updates how status effects work. Also adds in support for French localisation.

  14. OK, here's my plan; before I get into fucking around and finding out with self hosting Fedi stuff, I'm gonna sort out using Foundry VTT.

I've had it a year and still not managed to set it up to actually use it yet thanks to time and spell slots...

Off to @IcarusGames videos on setting it up I go!

  15. @LilFluff How else would you do it? *Manually?* That's so inefficient!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to working on my app to generate rival adventuring parties for #Dragonbane using #foundryvtt

  16. Tonight on #PF2E! The campaign reaches a minor milestone as the party finally and truly defeats Blorgorpfh, the Evil Octopus of Ultimate Evil, who was lurking in the flooded temple at the bottom of the sea! Two of Blorgorpfh's loathsome spawn escaped, however, so... villains set up for next campaign?

The evening's enjoyment was somewhat marred by #ForgeVTT / #FoundryVTT, the performance of which was hot garbage. Multiple players (including me, the GM) had to reload, inputs ranged from painfully slow to completely non-registered, and more. It was NOT a complex map with a lot of walls, tokens, and light effects, so I can only guess that after 20 levels and however many system updates, the thing is just collapsing under its own weight.

Hopefully it can hold on long enough to finish one last story arc...

  17. So.. With a little help from my buddy Claude. I have my DnD Ravenloft setting, "Echoes lament" building a foundry vtt module via CI/CD in gitlab.

I love when my nerd hobbies come together so nicely.

Its not quite done enough that I want folks trying to use it yet, but once it is, ill likely share it for free. At least the .md files, and the Foundry vtt module. Not sure if i'd have any interest in trying to build it for other VTT's.

  18. It's been a while since I've had the time to do one of these, but I've finally found the time to put together another development diary for my Mongoose Traveller system for FoundryVTT.

Taking a look at some of the new features - both recently released and about to be released.

  19. @trishalynn I prefer #foundryvtt for being self hosted, a one off licence purchase, and having easily the most open developer infrastructure.

  20. Instead of going out and getting some fresh air I wrote a #foundryvtt macro to change the light settings for a token daisychase.net/blog/2026/04/03
