  1. #Roku is the same Company that #bricked everyone's devices until they agreed to Roku's #ForcedArbitration because they had a #DataBreach and didn't want anybody to sue them over it.

Roku is so beyond dead to me. I used to have a Roku device in every single room of my house. Not any more. I wouldn't trust that Company to spell my name right. Shady company run by even more shady executives.

    Avoid!

  5. attention US Walgreens customers, however reluctant: they've updated their ToS for online services and myWalgreens (effective May 21st, 2024) to add a forced arbitration clause. you can only opt out by physically mailing an opt-out letter to them within 30 days of accepting the ToS or accessing their website:

if you think this is horseshit, tell your congressperson and senators to pass the FAIR Act. Walgreens is far from the first to the forced arbitration party.

note that an arbitration opt-out still won't get you out of the class action waiver attached to this ToS.

  8. Got an email from the #NewYorkTimes about updates to the terms of service. They tried to clutter it with a bunch of "we made this and that easier to understand" but the real point is they added a #ForcedArbitration clause. Disappointing but not surprising. I think forced arbitration should be illegal.
