Another month, another floor crossing: another reminder that we elect individuals to represent us, not parties.

For all the people I hear expressing a feeling of betrayal - she doesn’t represent you: maybe check in with your nunavummiut friends before you decide what their representative should or shouldn’t be allowed to do.

"Whatever I decide, it will be what I think is best for Nunavummiut," Idlout has said. It’s up to the people of Nunavut to tell her whether they agree.

I’ll also remind everyone that she represents a territory that internally uses a consensus legislature and has no political parties.
