  1. 5 Ways to Outsmart a Mosquito This Season

Spring showers and warm weather bring the beauty of the season — but also the return of mosquitos.

If you’re already hearing that familiar buzz or waking up with itchy bites, you’re not alone!

Here are a few quick tips to keep the bites to a minimum:

    1. Eliminate standing water: Mosquitos breed in stagnant water. Regularly empty birdbaths, plant saucers, buckets, and anything else that can collect rainwater.

    2. Use natural repellents: Citronella candles, essential oils like eucalyptus and lavender, and even planting mosquito-repelling plants like lemongrass and basil can help.

    3. Time your outdoor activities: Mosquitos are most active during dawn and dusk. If you can, plan your outside time around those windows.

    4. Wear light-colored clothing: Dark colors attract mosquitos more. Loose-fitting, light-colored clothes can help protect your skin.

    5. Protect your yard: Regular lawn care and debris removal can drastically reduce mosquito hiding spots. (Need help? That’s where we come in!)

Already got a bite? Here’s how to soothe it fast:

    1. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

    2. Dab a little anti-itch cream or calamine lotion.

    3. Aloe vera gel and honey can also naturally calm the skin.

The key is to stay proactive before bites become a summer-long battle!
