The insects are extra active in the woods this time of the year, including this June bug (Figeater?) on the trail. The way its colors change with light is just amazing. My pictures don't capture it well, but I tried.
The pictures in the light (where the bug looks reddish) don't have enough definition. I was too focused on the body colors.
