Dismal Wizard is reading that great @teddytedaloo epic “Rotten Peaches” to us. You’d think the ever-suffering Thelonious was a “rescue” #Greyhound. Rotten Peaches finds Thelonious deposited in an unnamed US Southern hamlet trying to eat a meal of “Southern cuisine “ that didn’t include #grits, #greens, or #fieldpeas. Poor bear. He needs a mess of collards and some Sweet Tea to set him right.
There is some hope for Thelonious as he digs “Bird” (Charlie Parker). #book #GreatBritishNovel

Ingredients:
#FieldPeas (#Kapucijners, #PisumSativum var. #arvense)
spiced #pork 'kebab'
colourful veggie mix (carrots, corn, green peas, bell pepper, IIRC)
#periPeri garlic sauce

CW: meat & beans, recipe
@jamestomasino oh, and of course there is the thing I grew up with in the Netherlands:
A very plain and simple #Kapucijners with #spekkies.
#FieldPeas (#PisumSativum var. #arvense) with fried #lard dice.
Usually served with spoonful of the fat that was rendered out of the lard.I think it traditionally was eaten with a bit of sugar syrup, though I preferred to eat it with a bit of curry-spiced ketchup.
