I switched from FreeTubeApp to the following combination
ff2mpv + TT-RSS
My feed reader collects the latest video urls from the channels I follow. I can right-click and play each one in mpv using the Firefox extension ff2mpv.
The migration was quite seamless.
FreeTubeApp can export subscriptions to OPML format which can be imported to TT-RSS.
A new category called "YouTube Subscriptions" now holds the imported subscription in the feed reader.
