Ask many folks to describe what #MLOps tools are supposed to do & you'll get a pretty decent description of the V1 or V2 MLOps tools.
Most V3 MLOps tools are trying to solve the “workflow/process” layer through virtualized abstractions (oftentimes on Kubernetes) .
❌ They aren’t trying to solve the compute & storage layer.
❌ They aren’t trying to propose novel DSLs.
❌ They aren’t trying to “lift & shift” your data.

I'm looking for some thoughts on #FeatureStores.
I've read articles explaining why I might use a #feature store, but I'm looking for examples of when you wouldn't. What are the downsides?
What are the operational considerations? How do I manage/scale a feature store? What does the lifecycle of a feature look like across dev/test/prod? How do I version features? Are feature stores useful outside of ML training/inference?
Anyone got good blog posts or thoughts on this stuff?
