#fansplaining should be a word, maybe ... it’s not a new phenomenon though the major instance that comes to mind relates to she who must not be named so I won’t.

The most recent #Fansplaining #podcast is about f|f #fanfic statistics as compared to m|m and straight fics. Lots of interesting points and discussions! The link has the transcript, as well:

Pretty disappointed with how the new episode of #Fansplaining #podcast dealt with #AI use of #fanfic and #art. They essentially said, #ChatGPT won't really be able to write anything decent without human intervention, the signature-like squiggles in AI "art" aren't really copied from any given artist, and if your stuff is on the internet for free, of course it's going to be scraped 🤯
How about AI art in a certain artist's style? Since when does #copyright not exist on the internet? -
The most recent episode of the #Fansplaining #podcast is a very interesting and nuanced discussion about #rpf #fanfic. E.g. about fans' reaction to egregious behaviour of a person they have headcanons or write rpf about; about possessive fans, policing within a fandom, showrunners breaking the 4. wall. I'm not very well-versed in #fandom, only became fannish after watching #TheUntamed , but it was interesting to think about @yizhan fandom (that I'm in) in these terms.
