I really appreciate content creators like #ExtraHistory meeting the current moment with background on US deportations and their historical context.
I highly recommend this series to see this kind of behavior for what it so blatantly is, racism.

Extra History: a great source of history knowledge!
I've recently caught up on the Siege of Vienna, but their shorts are good too:

Hey, everyone! Do you love #history? Do you love #ExtraHistory? What about #calendars?
Well, you're in luck! The awesome folks at Extra History have started a Kickstarter campaign to fund their project Extra History 2025 Calendar - “History Happens Every Day”, and it looks fantastic. I pledged today. Can't wait to get the calendar and the #Walpole pushpin. (And postcards! I'm always a sucker for #postcards.)
(I may have splurged a little...)

CW: variolation and vaccination history, smallpox
@ljwrites I've learned of #variolation through this #ExtraHistory video: History of Vaccines - Killing Smallpox - Extra History, but it focused more on Lady Mary Wortley Montagu's efforts to promote it in England. It glosses over the origins by stating only:
"who witnessed the procedure in the Ottoman Empire, where her husband was serving as the British ambassador while Europeans had heard of the practice, Lady Mary became an advocate for bringing the procedure to England"
