  2. This is interesting. Not least because the words #emulsifier and #ultraprocessed don't appear at all.

    I can think of one reason why a company that makes a living by substituting fat, salt and sugar with starch, calcium lactate/citrate and acesulfame might want to call for higher taxes on more conventional ingredients. What I can't work out is why the Guardian has chosen not to mention it.

    In the meantime, this wheeze might best be served with a bucketful of salt.
