I wrote up the process of creating the #Emoji proposal here:

The main accolade somebody deserves who successfully gets an emoji proposal excepted, is that they were really lucky

And that maybe they learned something about patience, because the process takes at least two years, almost all of which is just waiting around after you turn in the proposal

Some proposals — successful and not — are very entertaining though

#Unicode has representation from Asian tech companies (the Japanese invented #emoji after all) but they have been striving to get other cultural representation

The folks at #EmojiNation helped me with the #AccordionEmoji, and that’s where I got the #pomegranate proposal
