The combination of our Sigenergy solar plant, @homeassistant running EMHASS to manage price and load forecasting and Amber’s 5-minute pricing meant we were in a good position to sell back to the grid at a good price during the current wholesale price spike. The spike has about another 30 minutes to go, and another is forecast for tomorrow.
If it does nothing else, having Home Assistant manage this is worth the setup cost (less than $200) and a few hours looking for methods, answers, and helpful community members.

Not so much sun today. At least I'll be able to sell the grid energy back this evening during the expected spike.

The sheer amount of data the #Sigenergy integration for #HomeAssistant provides is a touch overwhelming. Thankfully, good folks in the community have assisted me in adding in a bunch of additional tools including #EMHASS and the #Amber integration that now automate management of our solar+battery with forecasting, mode switching, and export at the best possible times.
Watching it do its thing is pretty funky.
