i do enjoy when some random account i’ve never interacted with, who seems to entirely reply rant at other people, blocks me on #Bluesky…

@AutisticInnovator few months ago i had a Bluesky user yell at me for pointing out that still actively using #ElmosFolly is supporting a slew of bad things

the user's defense was that "people need the exposure and reach" blah blah blah

funny how even Grok admits there is no value there anymore

@JoBlakely i set up the poll since there’s a LGBTQ+ arts org that decided to stop using Facebook this year for events and it’s causing some blowback from some constituents

personally thought they should have dropped it and #ElmosFolly years ago when they were in more stable footing

@pathfinder @actuallyautistic had Mastodon had better apps in the early days, i would never have wasted 15 years on #ElmosFolly

not federating your #Threads account basically trading one megalomaniac for another as your gatekeeper

and yes, i understand the philosophical issues inherent in #Threads, but as more keep making it their new home over #ElmosFolly (and since #Bluesky doesn't federate nicely), #ItIsWhatItIs

@shoq i work for a large university in the Pacific Northwest and based on our principles, having accounts (and they have a shit ton) on #ElmosFolly is a violation in my book.

there’s a few small pockets that have set up mastodon accounts but not sure they’re well advertised.

@shoq while i’ve started judging some friends for remaining on #ElmosFolly, my standard philosophy is choose whatever works for you re social medial and the respective apps

@shoq my conversations on here have been a lot more frequent and better quality than all of my 15 years combined on #ElmosFolly
