  1. From #TaprootMedia: Re rezoning "10 acres for #Scandinave to build a #NordicSpa by the river valley. The coalition opposes the rezoning due to a failure to consult with the #Treaty6 Confederacy, council’s decision to waive their #top-of-bank policy, and insufficient protection of #wetlands and trees. The cost to use the spa will also make it inaccessible to most #Edmontonians, #KristineKowalchuk wrote."

  3. "Gretzky knows of Trump's intent to annex his home country but continues to support him. If you feel as betrayed as I do, please consider signing this petition to change the name of #WayneGretzky Drive to something else. What new name? #TerryFox Drive or Joey Moss Drive were great suggestions I've heard, but there can be another #petition to decide the name. The point of this petition is to catch #YEGCityCouncil's attention on how important this is to #Edmontonians."

  5. @IPEdmonton I never really understood “broadcast only” accounts. To me, the joy of the Other Place was interacting with people, was being in conversation with #Edmontonians and #Albertans about our community. And I never wanted to speak just to other journalists. I wanted to engage with all kinds of people. That’s what I will miss most - that network of relationships, built and nurtured since 2009.

  7. Back in 2013 - in response to some ugly public debates in #Edmonton about community safety - I created #yegquest, a sort of digital scavenger hunt that challenged #Edmontonians to solve clues & chase a papier mâché chicken named #Henday to 12 mystery spots around #yeg, and take and post photos of themselves where Henday the Hen had been. It was a huge hit - and even won a national award for the Edmonton Journal. edmontonjournal.com/news/local
