Unfortunately, the #Nextcloud Talk app cannot be used properly on mobile devices that do not use Google Play Services.
Background: Without Google Play Services, notifications (push notifications) are not delivered to the device, meaning that important information (chats, calls) is simply missed or not delivered to de-googled devices. These notifications are only displayed to the user after a manual refresh in the application. Custom notification server services cannot currently be used with the Nextcloud Talk app.
Are you planning any changes here? That would only be logical, since you champion "digital sovereignty" at Nextcloud
The community and projects such as #ncsh, #kuketz, #kuketzblog, #e_mydata, #grapheneos, and many others want to embark on this journey with you and become independent of the tech giants. I look forward to your feedback.

Die #Nextcloud Talk-App lässt sich leider nicht vernünftig an mobilen Geräten nutzen, die keine Google Playdienste nutzen.
Hintergrund: Die Benachrichtigungen (Push-Notifications) werden ohne Google-Playdienste nicht an das Endgerät übermittelt, so dass wichtige Informationen (Chats, Anrufe) schlicht übersehen bzw. nicht übermittelt werden. Erst nach einer manuellen Aktualisierung in der Anwendung werden diese Benachrichtigungen dem Anwender angezeigt. Eigene Notification-Serverdienste können derzeit für die Nextcloud Talk-App nicht verwendet werden.
Plant ihr hier Veränderungen - das würde doch nur konsequent sein, denn ihr schreibt euch ja selbst "digitale Souveränität" auf die Nextcloud-Fahne.
Die Community und Projekte wie bspw. #ncsh, #kuketz, #kuketzblog, #e_mydata, #grapheneos u.v.a. möchten ja den Weg mit Euch bestreiten und unabhängig von den Tech-Giganten werden. Ich freue mich auf Eure Rückmeldung.

Habe Opensuse (Suse) seit 2000. Libreoffice.
Meine Nextcloud steht unter meinem Schreibtisch.
Auf meinem Handy läuft e/os #e_mydata von Murena.
Fast weg von Whatsapp. Aber ich bearbeite gerade mein Umfeld, um zu Signal zu kommen.
Alles reine Gewohnheit......

Ich habe dieser Tage /e/ auf mein Galaxy S4 mini geflasht, Installation lief problemlos. Macht auf mich einen sympathischen Eindruck, weil ich gerne selbst entscheide, wem ich meine Daten gebe. #e_mydata #datenschutz #opensource
