The second #dycp workshop I did was more developed, and at the end of the project. It was based around colour and texture cards I made, and a little dummy book I'd made too. Again, I wanted to test the kids to see how they'd respond to being asked to talk about their feelings, in a language of colour and texture. The kids (4-8) were articulate, engaged, pleased to be asked, and by the end of a 40 min workshop, all tuckered out 😴 #art #mastoart #irishchildrensbooks #childrensbooks #kidlit

This year I was the incredibly fortunate recipient of an arts council #dycp grant. I wanted to do something about how colour and texture can be carriers, and therefore communicators of emotion and feeling/sensation. So part of what I did was some workshops for little kids, asking them to play with colour, showing them #art and finding out how they felt or what it reminded them of. It was MINDBLOWING how they responded. #art #kidlit #illustration #kidsart #childrensbooks #irishchildrensbooks
