The last 2 minutes of today’s derbymatch summed up Dundee United’s season. We played well for 93 minutes, scored 2 goals and should have had more.
And ended up with a 2-2 draw. We have lost so many late goals and drawn or lost games from winning positions. It happens far too often to be coincidence.

It’s been a hectic festive period for Dundee United #DUFC. 7 games in 21 days, 2 of them against Celtic, & 4 of them away from home. To come out of that lot with 4 wins and a draw is a superb achievement. And I haven’t been able to get to any of the games. Maybe I should stay away if we’re going to get results like that.

I must admit that I’ve spent much of this season thinking Dundee United simply weren’t good enough to witn the Championship. What a relief to be proved wrong, although they made heavy weather of it again yesterday. It’s not technically won, but even I can’t see us losing a 36 goal dvantage over 2 matches, so we’ll be back in the top league next season. Mind you, without some good recruitment, we’ll be straight back down again. A lot of the squad aren’t good enough for the Premiership.

Well, #DUFC proved me very wrong. After a shaky opening, they dominated the game and ended up well worth the win. It sounded like our best performance since the turn of the year. 5 more displays like that and we may actually win this league after all. Fingers crossed.

I can’t get to the Dundee United vs Raith Rovers game today, so I’ll be listening in to the match commentary. I can’t say I’m confident #DUFC have bottled it in just about every big game this season, and now I hear both our regular centre backs are out injured. I’m hoping for a win, but expecting another disappointing performance. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

Almost time to try to tune in to #DUTV for commentary on Dundee United’s game against Inverness CT. It will be a tough match, and I’m not overly confident of a win after our stuttering performances in recent weeks. Main thing is that I hope the commentary reception is better than the last game up there when it sounded like the guys were on the dark side of the moon.

I received an email from Dundee United FC giving me a link to read an online version of the Match Day Programme.
I’ve tried JAWS & Narrator on PC, plus Voiceover on iPhone & MacBook, but none of them can locate any text in the document. Either there’s a step in the process I’m missing, or the digital programme is completely inaccessible. That’s poor, as the club has several visually impaired season ticket holders.
I’ve reported this to the Club’s Disability Officer, so hopefully something will be done about this for future editions.

As a #Blind #Football fan, I often listen to radio commentaries. #BBC 5 Live is good for listening to games featuring English teams, but some of the commentators seem to know very little about the Scottish game. Yesterday, during the Manchester United game, the commentator gave an update on scores in other games. He said that Dundee United had drawn 0-0 with Ross County in the Scottish Premiership. That was an amazing result since Dundee United are playing in the Championship this season. It was Dundee FC who were playing Ross County.
Am I being too picky for expecting a UK-wide broadcaster to get basic facts correct?

It was nice to see a home victory for Dundee United today. They made heavy weather of it for a while, and a better opposition would have punished some of the sloppy defensive mistakes, but a solid performance eventually produced the goals. Weirdly, I still think Middleton could have done a lot more even though he set up 3 of our goals. Maybe he’ll produce even more if I keep criticising him for inconsistency.

For the 1st time this season, I got up to #Tannadice for a #DUFC home game. Started well, then faded. Not nearly enough effort, but still should have had enough to win after going in front. Then 2 moments of madness cost a goal & a player sent off. Disappointing day overall.

It was only the first League game of the season, but I must admit I was impressed with the way Dundee United played yesterday. 4 goals and a clean sheet away from home. I’m not going to get carried away, but it’s a very decent start to the campaign.

Dundee United dug out an unspectacular win in the #ViaPlayCup last night. We do seem to have a decent goalkeeper at last, but I’m not convinced that team is good enough to win promotion. Far too many players are unable to hit the target when they shoot, and the defence still isn’t strong. I hope I’m wrong, but the new signings haven’t impressed me so far.

For those who still hanker for a fully accessible 3rd Party app to useTwitter, the Spring app’s latest update has somehow managed to gain access to the bird site again. I don’t know how the developer does it, but it is working, and it is so nice to be able to navigate Twitter easily. I don’t spend a lot of time there, but a lot of posts about my football team still appear there, so I rely on it to keep up to date with team & fan news. #DUFC #Twitter #SpringApp
