I am very disappointed that mayor #CamGuthrie of #Guelph is asking #DougFord to use the notwithstanding clause to SUSPEND the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. All so that he can wield police violence to clear unhoused people from their encampments. This costs hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars each time.
We should not be suspending this part of the Canadian constitution because some NIMBYS get the ick from underprivileged and vulnerable people.
