Like yes, there are still so many things I can do BETTER but I still never felt inferior to the other attendees; I felt like I earned my place, and it was so rewarding.
I want to try to be more professionnal, to do more merch, and, who knows, maybe have an even better booth next year !
Finally, I want to thank all of the visitors for their enthusiasm, their kindness and their support 🫶
Keep creating ! ⭐

Dokomi is over and I think it's time to write a little review ✨
It was a really humbling and motivating experience, with a side of fear and exhaustion ; it was my very first international con and I was a NERVOUS WREAK, obviously.
But all of my fears were for nothing ! I felt very loved and welcomed, so many people knew me already ?? It's always giving me whiplash that some of you can recognize me, like in my head I'm still a baby learning how to swim 🫣
Tabling at such a big event gave me a confidence and motivation boost like I've never had before !

Time for a recap of #Dokomi!
I always like going to conventions to meet people who know my stuff and people who are new to it. It was great to say hello and to draw commissions - I’ll share them in this thread.
Every single one of them was fun! I also had some great vegan food over the weekend (I didn’t say it here yet but I’ve decided to eat only vegan now). So overall it as a good experience. But… this year I couldn’t make back even my basic costs for going to Dokomi.

I visited #DoKomi2026 for the first time this year and discovered a great gem of an indie game called #WardingWitches which is an upcoming bullet hell shmup that took up more of my time than I'd like to admit.

Soooo tomorrow there will be a crossover musical at #Dokomi2026 - featuring Doctor Who! 😱 featuring Lady Oscar (The Rose of Versailles)! 😱
"When the TARDIS lands in 18th-century France, the Doctor and Donna encounter not only revolutionary ideals but also Lady Oscar, torn between duty and emotion. Timelines begin to collapse, reality itself is at stake, and two mysterious beings intervene in France’s destiny with godlike power."

#Dokomi2026 is in 2 months and I have to decide soon what I can still get done until then.
A full new comic is out of the question (I have a script but not yet a single page drawn).
Other comics artists told me it’s good to have sample booklets for comics to distribute for free. I’ll just have to see how expensive that is to make and no idea how many make sense. Then I could make some for my existing comics and some for the new one.

Time to share my preliminary plan for tabling at conventions this year!
So far I’m only planning cons with a dedicated adult area or which are general for adults only, since I don’t want to hide over half of my comics and most of my illustrations.
If you know any in Germany or somewhat close to it where applications are still open or haven’t started yet, I’d love to know.#MastoArt #artistsOnMastodon #Dokomi2026 #Connichi2026 #KaidanCon2026 #convention
