ANYC Saturday.

I was near the front of the line for the CatChu meet and greet, so Yabu-chan saw me when she walked out, and she seemed so happy when she did. And she seemed so excited when it was my turn to meet her 🥹. She liked my guitar prop and we compared hair buns lol. Meet all three of the CatChu seiyuu was a magical experience, they really do shine in an amazing way.

In a week, doing both AnimeNYC and PopCult, in spite of those being in two different cities :4504_aqua_laugh: Hooray for Greyhound. (If Amtrak ran at more times, in particular more late night/early morning routes, or if there was a high speed rail option, I'd do that... But nope, a bus it is :ferndisgust: .)

(Flame Con does ban gun props in general, but I have an absolutely hilarious water gun to take pictures with at home.)

I am looking forward to checking out Flame Con, it sounds like a very comfy and inclusive place. :nnezukolove56: One thing I like about cons in general is that they can often provide a safe space for people to comfortably be themselves. A con which puts that goal front and center seems like a great idea :mexcitedmiku:

After there was some issue with the venue for the summer, Metam0re is now hosting Autumn Id0l Jam on September 29 at Arts at the Armory in Somerville. Coming out of post-con hibernation for a bit to start making posts. (Also good morning to the EDT time zone. :4504_aqua_laugh: )

Anime Boston was a lot of fun! It's been 10 years since I started going to AB, and the con still holds a special place in my heart. Last year was the first time I cosplayed Yohane, which has led to a year of fun and happiness as I've met so many great people in the local cosplay and idol communities. This year, I did way more with cosplay than ever before, and while I'm really eager to improve a lot of things, I'm also pretty proud of what I've done (and proud of the fact that I'm now dissatisfied with things that are far better than my best from a year ago.)

Some event highlights for me:

-The Queen Bee concert on Friday. Avu-chan is an incredibly talented vocalist, and this comes through even better live :mexcitedmiku:

-The idol showcase. Every group really showed their stuff. So many incredible performances, I really love watching and cheering for all the groups here.

-An excellent panel on plus-sized cosplay, with both broader perspectives on inclusivity and some great practical tips.

Another Anime Con was a lot of fun! Got to hang around today with some friends today to wrap up the con.

Highlight for me was of course my first time performing in an idol showcase. :mexcitedmiku: And getting to share some excitement for Genjitsu no Yohane by doing Forever U & I (from the penultimate episode). It was really fun putting together the cosplay and figuring out the choreography from the episode, which is all I had to go on since it hasn't been performed live yet. :TamakoLaugh: (I'm actually really interested to see the choreo that Aikyan will use in the Yohane Live; there are a lot of cutaways in the anime MV that I had to fill in, and which will probably be filled in differently by Aikyan. :akko_excited: )

And all the other performances were all so good. :akko_listen: I really love the idol community around here; everyone's so good at performing, in addition to being so supportive and full of positive energy.
