Over the last couple of days I noticed that there is a huge black hole in (both) communities I volunteer in when it comes to "volunteering" itself for the general attendees.
I'm now thinking about starting a video series talking to different departments at events to shine a light on volunteering and maybe get more people to help during events.Now here's the thing: I've been volunteering for over 12 years now and I might have lost touch as to which questions might be important, so I've decided to ask for your help, crowdsourcing questions.
What would be your questions to any specific team at a con if you could ask them?
What would you like to learn about volunteering?

Like yes, there are still so many things I can do BETTER but I still never felt inferior to the other attendees; I felt like I earned my place, and it was so rewarding.
I want to try to be more professionnal, to do more merch, and, who knows, maybe have an even better booth next year !
Finally, I want to thank all of the visitors for their enthusiasm, their kindness and their support 🫶

Dokomi is over and I think it's time to write a little review ✨
It was a really humbling and motivating experience, with a side of fear and exhaustion ; it was my very first international con and I was a NERVOUS WREAK, obviously.
But all of my fears were for nothing ! I felt very loved and welcomed, so many people knew me already ?? It's always giving me whiplash that some of you can recognize me, like in my head I'm still a baby learning how to swim 🫣
Tabling at such a big event gave me a confidence and motivation boost like I've never had before !

I always like going to conventions to meet people who know my stuff and people who are new to it. It was great to say hello and to draw commissions - I’ll share them in this thread.
Every single one of them was fun! I also had some great vegan food over the weekend (I didn’t say it here yet but I’ve decided to eat only vegan now). So overall it as a good experience.But… this year I couldn’t make back even my basic costs for going to Dokomi.
