Like yes, there are still so many things I can do BETTER but I still never felt inferior to the other attendees; I felt like I earned my place, and it was so rewarding.
I want to try to be more professionnal, to do more merch, and, who knows, maybe have an even better booth next year !

Dokomi is over and I think it's time to write a little review ✨
It was a really humbling and motivating experience, with a side of fear and exhaustion ; it was my very first international con and I was a NERVOUS WREAK, obviously.
But all of my fears were for nothing ! I felt very loved and welcomed, so many people knew me already ?? It's always giving me whiplash that some of you can recognize me, like in my head I'm still a baby learning how to swim 🫣
Tabling at such a big event gave me a confidence and motivation boost like I've never had before !

Time for a recap of #Dokomi!

I always like going to conventions to meet people who know my stuff and people who are new to it. It was great to say hello and to draw commissions - I’ll share them in this thread.
Every single one of them was fun! I also had some great vegan food over the weekend (I didn’t say it here yet but I’ve decided to eat only vegan now). So overall it as a good experience.

But… this year I couldn’t make back even my basic costs for going to Dokomi.

Wow! I am still a little overwhelmed from the last weekend. Thank you so, so much for the amazing time. For loving my art and even selling out a bunch of things. For the support and for all the lovely chats.💚✨

I found this toot (part of a thread) which refers to my 2024 Dokomi visit. The sign posting has improved since. No problems at all this year. Also, even though some people claimed that Dokomi does not have changing rooms, they do, they are decent and they were not that crowded. I waited 10 minutes.

Bin jetzt übrigens ein paar Prints fürs Zimmer reicher - die Liebste hat mich mit auf die #DoKoMi "geschleppt" und es war wirklich schön. Eigentlich bin ich ja nicht wirkliche in der Manga/Anime-Szene drin, aber sie auch nicht so sehr - war trotzdem oder gerade dann einen Besuch wert.
Und die Artist-Stände waren alle wirklich cool, sogar für mein Nerdiges Tiere/Pflanzen-Herz hat sich was gefunden 😃

Well, that was a great weekend. I especially had a great time at Dokomi both inside the fair and in the park. I had no idea there were SO many cosplayers in the park! Extra thanks to @Blahmage for the lovely chat, the photos and spotting other FF XIII cosplayers. I probably should attend a general FF fan meetup somewhen, even though I basically only played X, X-2 and the XIII trilogy. All the people I've talked to at cons so far have been so nice.

I apparently tend to do casual closet cosplay due to the weather these days. That is done in like 2 hours. I came up with this last tuesday haha.

I also watched the video contest again. They have three categories: showcase, reel and storytelling. Surprisingly, reel had the fewest entries, but there were many great ones in all categories, both shorter and longer formats. Pretty cool, I'll keep my eyes open for other video contests. They also had small prices for all participants, which was neat, and it was only little show / talking and mostly videos.

#Dokomi Friday was fun! I finally met another Lightning. :) Yuna, too. Maomao dominated my usual counting popular cosplays by far, followed by Frieren. From my very biased perspective of popular cosplays I spotted I'd also say the recently announced Witcher DLC reached a lot of fans and there must be some kind of new Devil May Cry thing, while Arcane probably didn't have a new season in a while? lol anyways, curious how tomorrow will be, I'll be outside in the park for the first time!

One of the small nice things about Dokomi is the 100% chance to spot / meet other con visitors in the train. People are coming from everywhere, all day, so there's always someone with a prop, a wig, or a suspiciously shiny outfit.

No Faith at #Dokomi since I couldn't get the wig done in time. I was too stressed out by my failed plan yesterday. Took a break and instead decided to fix some minor issues with Lightning's coat. Even though I've been to cons as Lightning quite a few times now, I still have like 20 things on my to do list.
Not sure if I'll go to the park in cosplay on Saturday though. I'll attend a concert in the evening in a different city and logistics would be a nightmare. Maybe without gunblade.

Figured I won't get the runner bag done until Dokomi. Well, it was always a little optimistic, and the actual deadline is a photoshooting two weeks later. Sewing just always takes forever. I'll instead convert an old yellow t-shirt into a bag so I can at least carry my camera and water etc around. Fingers crossed I get the wig done tomorrow as planned.

Will I meet any of you at Dokomi on Friday or in the park on Saturday?
