Propterodactylus frankerlae was a #pterosaur from the late Jurassic of Germany, found in the famous Solnhofen limestone all the way back in 2011!
The holotype is a STUNNING specimen that has a bunch of features that match #pterosaurs like #Darwinopterus, but it ALSO has a bunch of features that match pterosaurs like #Pterodactylus!

#Pterorhynchus wellnhoferi was originally thought to be a rhamphorinchid #pterosaur, but after the discovery of #Darwinopterus, it’s now a wukongopterid!
Its generic name translates to “wing snout”, and its specific name honors Peter Wellhofer, who’s done an immense amount of work on #pterosaurs!
Btw, if anyone has a good photo of the holotype or tail, I’d really appreciate it!! 😊
