Here's a study of Kingnites, commissioned in 2022 for a project I cannot talk about yet. Kingnites, is an exceptionally large (1m long) Silurian polychaete annelid.

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...

The 2022 Korean translation of Locked in Time (by Dr Dean Lomax & published by Columbia University Press) commissioned me to colourise my 50 greyscale illustrations. "Victims of the Bloom" shows a mass stranding of baleen whales, sperm whales, seals, and fishes, caused by a toxic algal bloom.

#Ferrodraco was an #anhanguerid #pterosaur from #Australia that lived during the middle #Cretaceous. It was described with help from Adele Pentland, and its name translates to “iron dragon”.

#Eopteranodon was previously thought to be related to #toothless #pterosaurs like #Pteranodon, but is now placed comfortably in #Tapejaridae with pterosaurs like #Tupandactylus and #Sinopterus!

#Silurian

Although fungi and bacteria had already made forays onto the land deep in the past, things began to get busier there in the Silurian. But these horseshoe crabs, and their larger cousins the sea scorpions, have not come to the shore to stay, but to mate and lay eggs. Unfortunately for the horseshoe crabs, they have come to the very same shore.
