Reading today’s #DailyDracula section and being reminded that the description of Dracula’s physiognomy is not unlike that of Sherlock Holmes: aquiline, thin nose, lofty forehead, "hair growing scantily round the temples". Then some differences, of course. Notably, the moustache.

The excitement for me about people queering in the #DailyDracula isn't in whether or not their head canons are "correct." It's that *they are queering dracula*. Stepping into a long tradition of looking at monster literature and going "I see queer." whether or not that means purposefully misconstruing the language or pulling from historical analysis.
