Even by the measure this Court loves the most —the absurd “history and tradition” doctrine — the decision in Mullin v Al Otro Lado makes no sense at all.
America’s “history and tradition” had been to enable those persecuted elsewhere to find shelter and a new home here. We even have a really big statue in NY harbor underscoring that point.
THAT is what we mean by “the American dream”. We are here because your ancestors and mine found refuge on our shores and, through hard work, made their lives and ours better than could ever have been the case where they came from.
THAT, honorable justices, is our “history and tradition”. This xenophobic and misguided decision sends the country in a new and horrifying direction.
I weep for the dream of America that died this week.

The #Iran #MOU isn't a "peace agreement"; it's a temporary cease-fire, one that leaves Iran in control of the Straits of Hormuz, releases billions of dollars they can use to fund terrorists in #Israel, #Lebanon, and around the world, and offers the US nothing—NOTHING—that we didn't have already.
What a fucking joke. The greatest, most fearsome military in the history of mankind couldn't defeat a country run by backwards religious zealots, thugs, and terrorists. Not because we're incapable, but because our "leadership" (and I use the word lightly, even ironically) is so corrupt and incompetent that in only 18 months they have turned the United States of America into a punchline.

Federal #judges—especially at the district level—are practically all that's left standing between this administration and its goal of supplanting #democracy in favor of American-flavored #fascism. #Democrats have to take every possible action to delay or deny confirmations to the Federal bench.
If Dems somehow manage to take the #Senate this November, we can shut down the appointment of unqualified right-wing nutjob judges that have characterized this administration, once and for all. Until then, we can only exact a toll for each such nomination, invoking cloture under Rule 22 and utilizing every minute of delay made possible under that procedure.

#ICE #CrushICE #idiot47 I flew out of DCA today. That is one of the airports that was never affected by TSA slowdowns. TSA screening was fully staffed by TSA, and there were no ICE agents at screening. However, those thugs were roaming the concourse, all dressed in battle gear like they were about to land on the beaches of Iran. It is utterly disgusting that we have to see those monsters in a place that has NEVER had a violent incident. They are just there to look for trouble.

The airspace above and around El Paso was completely closed to all traffic — including Medevac and law enforcement — for several hours today due entirely to the utter incompetence of this administration.
The real story? The military was testing anti-#drone weaponry without bothering to inform or coordinate with the #FAA. There was no way to know if the tech represented a threat to commercial traffic, so the FAA used the only tool available to it: a complete shutdown.
The story the administration told us? That “Mexican cartels” were invading the US with drones. 🙄🤦🏼🤣
