I recently applied for a #PenFed bank account so that I can switch to their credit card from #USAA's, because USAA has gone to shit.
* PenFed's online identity verification was painless.
* When their app detected that it couldn't check my credit because my credit reports are frozen, it told me the problem, told me which bureau I had to unfreeze, and walked me through the process of unfreezing it for the check and refreezing it afterward.
I'm impressed. Very encouraging!

Of course, most members belong to one financial coop, the one which introduced German-style #CreditUnions to the US. And it was traditionally linked to parishes, which served as community hubs until the #QuietRevolution.
