Very interesting what goes for a cortado in the US. To be fair this is probably about 6-8oz in an 10-12oz cup. But I thought I was grabbing the wrong drink from the counter after I heard my name called.

It does taste good though. Better than the ubiquitous latte in the US

Our local #BlackSheep #CoffeeShop explains that a #Cortado is a "small #FlatWhite " 🤔

I am not really a #coffee gourmet or snob, but just on a surface level it strikes me that one is from Spain and the other is from #Australia or #NewZealand?

Then, they have different ratios of milk to coffee.

Depending on region, the milk may have been processed differently.

For one it's not even a requirement to contain a double-shot of #espresso.

Could they BE any more different? 😂

Finally broke down and bought a #moka pot so I could make #café #Cubano at home instead of spending up to $8 for a large #cortado.

Turns out the 6 cup pot fills my #Ember mug.

It's also not advisable to drink that much of this brew in one day, but it was so damn good I refused to resist.

I'm pulling that poll I posted about the #cortado vs #americano. Because quite embarrassingly, I got the cortado drink wrong, at least as to how it's served in the US and Canada.

It is usually a ratio of 1:1 espresso and ***steamed milk*** not hot water.

I've been to local cafes that do it as 1:1 water and espresso, and had it that way in Europe. In Australia it's apparently a short black.

So... oops.
