Many of the people we serve are in solitary confinement and can never discuss books except through letters. Fortunately, some prisoners are kept in conditions that are more humane, and a few are even allowed to participate in book clubs behind bars. This article describes a jail book club that had Sister Helen Prejean as a special guest.
