Thoughts on making J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s Congee with Shrimp, Saffron, and Spanish Chorizo from _The Wok_.
As written, this paella-inspired congee is 🌶️🔥. I had high hopes for this one, but may need to tone down the heat to give it its best chance. 3 stars as is ★★★☆☆

Made a big batch of the #pasta with fried #Salchicha, #Chorizo, #garlic and #onions, with grated #Norvegia and #GranaPadano #cheese (https://mastodon.social/@FiXato/102570807679247155) again, so @Siiw could enjoy it fresh (rather than heated up leftovers) this time.
Personally I liked the first attempt slightly better, but that might've been because of how surprised I was with the outcome, and how hungry I was, though it could also be that I made too much pasta in comparison.

I was going to make some quick plain #macaroni with olive oil, #garlic and #chives, since I didn't feel like making an elaborate meal, especially since I also had to watch #BeardGrabber in the mean time.
Then I figured I could quickly fry up some #onions while I was waiting for the #pasta, and remembered I had some #salchicha and #chorizo I could cut up and add.
While waiting for that to brown, I grated some #GranaPadano and #Norvegia cheese. Ended with:
