I’m a huge fan of Sidney Lumet’s 1978 film “The Wiz.” It’s an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, reimagined from deep in Harlem.
The music is unstoppable. Especially Charlie Smalls’ tracks.
Almost 50 years later, a revival Broadway cast visited NPR to share their version. And it’s fire.
