Today's petty rebellion to bloated bureaucracy.

Finally got around to filling in the expense claim for travel to/from the #CCP4SW, paid on the corporate credit card.
This needs a reason for not using the corporate travel provider for the tickets. For the train, it was "too short notice", given the rail strikes. For the tram from/to the station in Nottingham, it was "It's a tram"! There is no category for 'local' rail transport, but there is for bus/coach/taxi etc.

@xtaldave Yep, trains on time and got back fine although activated the backup plan of changing at Kettering onto a slightly slower, but much quieter service.
A shame I had to miss the last #CCP4SW session (plus bonus delayed talk).

Could really have done without my first nighttime #hypo of 2023 (and since before Christmas) when I need to be up early to get to #CCP4SW. 05:30 was a bit earlier than I wished to wake up.

Due to the strikes in the UK, traveling to the #ccp4sw is a bit more challenging this year, than it used to be. Currently on the train to Cologne. From there to Brussels, London (via Eurostar) and finally by bus to Nottingham. ETA: 11.30 pm.

My lift to Nottingham for #CCP4SW Weds - Fri has fallen through, due to various respiratory viruses taking out the driver. So, deciding whether to risk the train instead.
Looks like I would have to miss the last session owing to the #RailStrike and still a bit of a concern about others passing on unwanted Christmas 'gifts' even with the low in-person attendance this year.
