(Glyco-)sphingolipids play important roles in bacterial infections. Studying them requires powerful chemical tools.
Jürgen Seibel talked at #Biochemistry2026 about the synthesis of probes based on (glyco-)sphingolipids and their use to study biology e.g. using expansion microscopy.

I envy the glycoscience community for their #glycotime hashtag. A great way to make posts visible. Anyone in #ChemicalProteomics that has a good idea, which hashtag we might use to make all of our work more visible and findable?

Unraveling always seems a bit presumptuous, nevertheless a lot of work was put into this (not primarily by me)
If structural biology and nice electron densities are your thing take a look, or perhaps polysaccharide lyases sounds like fun?
Enjoy 😊
