  1. A lovely car light street in Amsterdam, where cars are allowed, but the street is made for other road users.

Radfahren verbindet Orte und Freunde. 💖
Schaffen wir aus Hamburg es, gemeinsam mit Bremen in Bremen für Bremen zu fahren?

Anreise per Radtour Hamburg → Bremen
    oder per Bahn 🤔

  4. Even on a weekend, 4 hours of riding the bus is a significant chunk of time.

Car free living just takes more time.

I feel like I need to divorce many of my close friends who live scattered around my sprawling city.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Would love to hear from you BC I would love to go car free but I think I would lose friends.

  5. To those of you who go car free, what do you do about close social connections who live down the highway?

I have a good friend who lives:
a 20 minute drive away, or
a 2 hour transit ride away, or
    a 1.5 hour bike away

Presently, I'll sometimes go see her on a weekday evening. If I went car free, that wouldn't be an option. She would have to come to me instead.

  6. CW: Seattle transit / car-free living musings ...

A day-off in Seattle, thanks to frequent transit and some especially well-timed bus transfers ...

U District to Golden Gardens for a king tide beach walk (via Rt 31 + 40) ... then downtown to Uwajimaya to pick up groceries (via Rt 45 + E Line) ... then home from Chinatown/ID (via Link 1 Line) to make a Balinese yellow spice paste ... then lapswimming in Ballard (via Rt 31 + 40) then home (via Rt 44).
