I was #bullied a lot as a kid, and for the most part, the adults in my life knew about it and did nothing.
From my lived experience, those who were bullied go one of two paths. Either they become #bullies themselves, or they refuse to let it happen to anyone else if they can stop it.

Math was always hard for me. But what I HATED was gym class. I still remember the gym teacher. She would divide the class into two teams to play against each other, and she ALWAYS put all the good athletes together on one team. The "losers" team always got crushed.I, of course, was always put on the loser team (I'm the kid who was always picked last when kids were picking who was going to be on their team). One day after we got crushed by the good athletes, the gym teacher started yelling at us for being so bad at sports.
I lost my temper.
"Of COURSE the score is always lopsided!" I screamed. "You always put all the GOOD athletes on one team!"
"Oh, and you think *you* could do better?" she sneered.
"Yes!" I answered.
For some reason she decided to show me up. She told me to divide the class into teams. So I did, as fairly as I could. Then we played a game between the two teams.
The final score differed by ONE point between the two teams.
She never said a damned word to me again.
Gym teachers are scum.

When I was a teenager I learned not to hang out with bullies, because bullies always have it coming to them. Whenever a victim struck back against the bully, I didn't want to be associated with the bully.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said the company that owns the AI assistant Claude would be punished unless it drops all ethical guidelines.

Anthropic’s powerful AI model, Claude, is currently the only one permitted to handle classified military data, and the company was awarded a $200 million contract last year to develop AI capabilities for the Department of Defense to use alongside other AI firms.
However, the company’s usage policy prohibits its use for mass surveillance and for the development of autonomous weapons—such as drones that attack targets without a human operator.
These limitations have infuriated the Defense Department leadership. On Tuesday, Hegseth called Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, to a meeting at the Pentagon, where he demanded 'unfettered' access to Claude without any guardrails.
This goal was outlined last month in the department’s 'AI Strategy' memo, which called for the US to adopt an 'AI-first warfighting force' and for companies to allow their technology to be deployed for 'any lawful use,' free from ethical safeguards.
While it would not be an unusual step for the Pentagon to cut ties with Anthropic, threats to declare it a supply chain risk have been described as extraordinary.
Jessica Tillipman, the associate dean for government procurement law studies at George Washington University, who specializes in AI governance, wrote on social media that the threat of 'declaring Anthropic a supply chain risk is deeply problematic,' as it’s 'generally something we reserve for products that create security risks, and using it in this way undermines its purpose.'
As Elizabeth Nolan Brown wrote on Wednesday for Reason, it 'would mean anyone who wants to work with the US military in any capacity must sever ties with the AI company,” which could deal a major blow to the business."

AI company Anthropic is facing perhaps the biggest crisis in its five-year existence as it stares down a Friday deadline to remove restrictions on how the U.S. Department of War can use its technology or face the possibility that the Pentagon will take action that could cripple its business.
Pete Hegseth, the U.S. secretary of war, has demanded that Anthropic remove restrictions it currently stipulates in its contracts that prohibit its AI models being used for mass surveillance or from being incorporated into lethal autonomous weapons, which can make decisions to attack without human intervention. Instead, Hegseth wants Anthropic to stipulate that its technology can be used for 'any lawful purpose' that the Department of War wishes to pursue.
If the company does not comply by Friday, Hegseth has threatened to not only cancel Anthropic’s existing $200 million contract with his department, but to have the company labelled a 'supply chain risk,' meaning that no company doing business with the Department of War would be allowed to use Anthropic’s models. I’ve said this before. But i’ll predict it again, because this such a common pattern with #bullies when they fail:
When the fascist uprising is finally turned (don’t know when), they will immediately pivot to: ”We made you strong. We taught you the importance of #strength. You owe us!”
That is a moment you have to be prepared for, because that’s their get out of jail free -card.
