#Bullies will often pretend to be the victims, so how can you tell them apart? Tip: a victim of #bullying will try to avoid any future interaction with the bully; the latter will do the exact opposite, while claiming to have been "followed".
The actual victim doesn't make a big show of it and complain to all and sundry how badly they were bullied. The actual victim can't wait for the whole damn incident to end already so they can have some peace and quiet.
The bully will stomp out, loudly complaining about the injustice. Their victim will quietly fade into the background.

Having childhood #bullies try to friend me on #Facebook is wild. Like, what about me being repeatedly and obviously hurt and crying because of you, your deliberately chosen actions, makes you think we were ever anything approaching friendly? When I would rather hunt you for sport.
This has happened to me now in so many ways. Do they just forget they were assholes? Is this a #neurotypical thing? What is this???

In 7 years of running my Fediverse instance, I’ve only ever encountered a few actual bullies and trolls. They’re more of a Twitter thing. It’s disheartening when they do show up here.
I don’t define #bullies and trolls as those who disagree or who are angry or irrational. It’s a presumption, in both types, that goes further.
I need to work, regardless, on water off a duck’s back. It’s tricky at times because, in a sense, I’m fighting battles from 50 to 60 years ago. Battles that I should have fought at the time. There is no way to fix that.

I was #bullied a lot as a kid, and for the most part, the adults in my life knew about it and did nothing.
From my lived experience, those who were bullied go one of two paths. Either they become #bullies themselves, or they refuse to let it happen to anyone else if they can stop it.

Math was always hard for me. But what I HATED was gym class. I still remember the gym teacher. She would divide the class into two teams to play against each other, and she ALWAYS put all the good athletes together on one team. The "losers" team always got crushed.I, of course, was always put on the loser team (I'm the kid who was always picked last when kids were picking who was going to be on their team). One day after we got crushed by the good athletes, the gym teacher started yelling at us for being so bad at sports.
I lost my temper.
"Of COURSE the score is always lopsided!" I screamed. "You always put all the GOOD athletes on one team!"
"Oh, and you think *you* could do better?" she sneered.
"Yes!" I answered.
For some reason she decided to show me up. She told me to divide the class into teams. So I did, as fairly as I could. Then we played a game between the two teams.
The final score differed by ONE point between the two teams.
She never said a damned word to me again.
Gym teachers are scum.
