USA: Boykottaufruf gegen Entlassungen bei Kellogg's

Die Kündigung von 1.400 Arbeiter*innen beim Lebensmittel-Unternehmen Kellogg's ruft international Proteste hervor.

Nachdem diese im Oktober gegen eine 80-Stunden-Woche, Überstundenpflicht, Lohnkürzungen, Stellenabbau und mangelnde Gesundheitsversorgung gestreikt hatten, wurden sie mit Massenentlassung bestraft.

Trotz milliardenschwerer Umsätze ist das Unternehmen aus Michigan nicht bereit, den Produktionsarbeiter*innen mehr Geld zu bezahlen.

Stattdessen drohte das Management mit einer Verlagerung der Produktion nach Mexiko. Und es wurden auch Streikbrecher*innen eingesetzt, um die Arbeitsniederlegungen auszugleichen und die Branchengewerkschaft BCTGM zu schwächen.

Aus Solidarität mit den Arbeiter*innen wurden daher mehrere internationale Aufrufe zum Boykott von Produkten, wie Cornflakes oder Pringles, veröffentlicht, um zusätzlich wirtschaftlichen Druck auf die Unternehmensleitung auszuüben.
