I'm breaking 2 cardinal rules here both by launching on a Friday and doing so when I'm not going to be around for the next few days to help or answer questions, but my followers are adventurous and will be fine. If the server breaks, I'll be back Monday.
I'm finally ready for alpha testing of my port of Quenzar's caverns. there is a web interface at https://quenzar.top
If you load that page and click "What is Quenzar's Caverns?" you'll find a link to the full original help file from the old 1994 game, which explains all the game mechanics, monsters, items and so forth. I'm now at the stage where I want people to go try playing and seeing what doesn't work.
The web interface has a standard input area for you to type into, and one tabstop away a keyboard-aware command pallet where you can control many of the game's function through single-key shortcuts. Hitting the question mark on this pallet lists which keys do what. You can just type if you prefer, but it feels a bit more "game-like" by moving around the map with the cursor etc.
If you've got half an hour and want to have a go at a 30 year old dungeon crawler, please feel free to make a character and have a look.
Don't reuse passwords; the reconnect option in the browser saves your login.
Don't expect modern sounds yet, we're just working on the classic for now. Eventually I'd like to add ambient music and more random noises, but we're just using the old files from August 1994 for the time being.
Don't expect visuals, if you can see enough for them to matter, you can go play the original game in an emulator (there's an archive link on the page). This port is a screen reader friendly recreation of the original using a different interface.
If you really want to play the original, it runs quite well under OTVDM on modern Windows.
Other than that, go have a play in some Dungeons! It's a great time killer. I pop in between tickets at work for 5 minutes of downtime. I used to plot out maps on graph paper as a kid, so perhaps I need to start taking it a bit more seriously again!

Everrealm v1.2.0 is out! New: Resource Pipeline System.
Three resources now flow between your specializations, creating a producer/consumer economy:
- Trade Goods (Founding Age): Markets produce, Craft Districts consume for +4 bonus cacao
- Knowledge (Age of Growth): Codex Houses produce, Temples consume for +10% extra multiplier
- Materials (Age of City-States): Estates produce, Aqueducts consume for +3% extra multiplier
Balance production and consumption or your consumers go idle. No stockpiling. Per-turn balance only. Resources unlock gradually so you learn one flow at a time.
This is the biggest gameplay update since launch. It adds real strategic depth: you can't just spam one specialization anymore.

I built a screen-reader-first kingdom builder because I can't play most games made for blind people.
Most audiogames rely on spatial audio and grids I can't process. So I made one with no grid, no spatial audio, no timers. Just keyboard shortcuts, semantic HTML, and a calm strategy loop.
It's called Everrealm. The alpha is live and the feedback from AudioGames.net has been encouraging: confirmed working on NVDA/Chrome, Orca/Firefox on Linux, and VoiceOver on iOS.
Come play it, tell me what breaks:

What's up everyone. Just discovered *Glory: Frontline*, a brand new accessible audio game for blind and low vision players! 🎮🔥
It's a fast-paced, real-time strategy war game where you command troops, make quick decisions, and conquer territories—all through immersive 3D audio. What makes it stand out is how it’s been designed **from the ground up** with accessibility in mind. No visuals needed—just your ears, reflexes, and strategy.
This is a huge step forward in inclusive gaming. Definitely check it out!
Here's a link to the official sight. there's a beta that you can join... deadline is June 27th. I'll also send a youtube link that goes over the controls.https://www.audiblegame.com/glory-frontline/#accessibility

I’ve been playing Civilization 7 with my son. As I’m blind, he does all the work, but describes what is happening and explains our choices which I get involved in. It’s very different to previous versions but has some nice features. It does, though seem to have some irritating bugs and some screens seem quite glitchy. Maybe that’s because we’re playing on X-box, but it’s a bit disappointing that some fairly basic things weren’t picked up by the developer before game release. Still, it’s as addictive as ever, and we spent far too long playing it at the weekend.

Shoutout to an excellent new video account which features blind gaming and blind flying videos. The videos do have visuals, but the person making them is blind and relies upon the audio cues for control.

As yall have probably noticed, the freeware version of A Hero's Call currently has a couple of bugs, in a nostalgic throwback to the game's original release.
Just watch that original thread for updates, as Ian Reed is working on them and has already released a new version fixing the slow walking and NVDA SAPI crash issues. Remember, auto updating is gone, so you'll need to manually update from now on.
