On a clear day, from Billinge Hill you can see the windfarm in Liverpool Bay, the Bootle dock cranes, and the cathedrals to the West; Fiddlers Ferry power station to the South; Manchester to the East; and, I'm told, sometimes Blackpool Tower to the North.
Today was not a clear day.
However, @huffeec and Lee and I got some good hill training in before the Ride to the Sun later this month.

Got out for an excellent 44 mile loop yesterday. Rode to the top of Merseyside; it's been years since I did the climb up Shady Brow, and it's still a killer. Great views across Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire from the top though!

Ran in the first #race of the Harrock Hill series on Wednesday evening. A 5 mile hilly trail race near #Billinge A box of fruit and veg for the first 3 finishers and for the first 2 in each 5-year age category from 40 upwards. Popular race with a big turnout from all the local running clubs, including our own. Three more races to come over the Summer 😁

Could do without more weekends to book up, but this looks like an interesting event.
Plus it's being held at the next village over from where I grew up. I'd not heard of the Green Slate Farm project before, but it sounds great.
