@collectedoverspread If I can re-word what you said, to make it as another perspective which is my view of the real problem (still sharing your core sentiment):

"The fact that USERS BUY INTO as a commercial service annoys me greatly. Should something as basic as a single-page site with a bunch of links really be outsourced to an outside service?"

Basically this applies to everything (even Fediverse now as it's normalising as a Twitter also)
1/ it's the users that are the weakest link
+ Answer1: need to educate +
+ Answer2: we the admins need to restructure and MAKE IT more our business (in the many meanings of that)
2/ if we don't make interacting with people the main activity (levelling them up or even giving them free alternative links) we've lost or only delayed these fish that just flop into things (some willingly but some that don't care could be pushed into 'flopping' at least here rather than there.

Users are the weakest link mostly... Need to make it more interactive and direct so as we talk (not just work) about everything it upgrades their brain (the firmware!)...

It's not just about Free Fediverse or web space either - it's political on many levels - and sometimes the supplies do 0 of that because they don't want to talk to people or more fiddle endlessly with computers once #Mastodon etc is all setup.

Though I've made good progress it's like the realisation today that "no one day I'll not get back to all this stuff" and "at this rate I'm creating more than I can catchup on..." 🚨

So "working forward" or not overloading the the future work instead of "one day I'll make time to catchup on ALL THIS ACCUMULATION" (!) seems better way.... any thoughts?

Though I've made good progress, and never forgotten much, it's like "working forward" instead of "one day I'll get back to all this stuff" which is kind of evident already if you and I are not doing the clean up now from the past stuff we set ourselves.

Data and stuff will just be left unprocessed! (which is only shame if we are forever working now only "to do it later" and don't do it later)

This is also a reason why online fans (true people) turn sour.

It's not just that the fan is crazy or idols are either....

When communication stops 'coincidently' when questioned about their usage of what they are opposite against... then trouble can start to build, as people build on problematic platforms and methods. Again opposite to what THEY talk opposite against.

Even down-to-earth people who have experience in schools and tech (MIGHT MENTION ACCOUNT HERE BUT FEEL IT WILL PUBLICISE THEM INSTEAD) who spending their whole account complaining, claiming to represent or search for better ways and want to practice other principle(s)... BUT SIMPLY DON'T !

THEY ALSO GIVE IN AND USE BAD THINGS! 🤦

Some fans forget these people or the wrong, but I think true fans to better ways (while not expecting perfection) can legitimately hold people accountable and yes try to do things themselves if not with hypocrites (people that talk only to use you).

If you complain about #AI or BIGTECH #Apple #Spotify BUT THEN USE THEM FOR YOUR PODCAST - YOUR CRITICISM AND FLACK IS MEASURABLY JUSTIFIED - MEASURABLY.

We need others to check our own principles and claims... Often it's not terribly hard and if you fall into the 'I don't have time' excuse (which is a mixture of other things which is why we need others to help us get into better multiplayer loops) then take the flack willingly... because we can see remotely you obviously have a lot of time, and do a lot of the same mono-stuff

(if we are to solve anything / do better practices, otherwise carry on you hypocrite).

Not just using people and throwing them after measurable critique and mutual principles are presented well enough (not hate).

Kill is a strong word but if you see war outside and authoritarian states / government, then yes slowly or directly it's a death mindset to kill people off which I consider if it's long-term suffering and deliberate neglect, oppression by leaders.

Platforms need to actively filter links AND at push to educate its users and train them not to leak data and usage from platform...

(Invidious filters YouTube for example and many Browser extensions could be listed).

One main reason why Mastodon exists is not to leak things.

Developers and users using google and it's links are leaking and letting Google in to their platform... even simply using YouTube links etc to track them.

Extracting from our bodies towards bigger profits and pocketing it all is war - don't overlook this while people are starving or can't pay heating bills because they have monopoly.

I am one of those people usually! And usually I'm asking from genuine position of fear or seeking #betterpractices, etc... and so I thought I'd write a compliment and some else for a change... on a practical note for anyone hating /seeking anything it's also good I see that "someone has said it already" and that way 'feel at ease' or that it's "done before"...

So I learned this kind of disclaimer or sign "google has been considered and critiqued before"... can help stop flow and be for developers etc the first signal to leave something like this post so it stops the flow but not the message (or even blocking people / filtering words etc).

Would be interesting to count how many contacted you... and actually ❓ COULD THOSE PEOPLE CONTACT ME PLEASE!!??
Because I think I can learn more in many ways (even from heaters hating something)...

Any other comments / experiences about that welcome.

Add Water to all food - #BetterPractices

Like soups / juicing / blending / liquefying but more water + heating / boiling items submerged under the water as solid / partially chopped to drink)

Make soups from everything or flavoured water from many things you have to make your food last longer.

Search for "OTHER IDEAS" on this post (CTRL-F) to see the quick list of ideas I've done / you can try regularly without dying and maybe the opposite!

You can eat solids but after sinking them in water first or boiling it all in a big pot and topping it up with water after each drink. The extra steps (however you like) are the key to making things last and cheating the solid food cost and weight on body suddenly. Often body just needs a top up on fuel or hot liquid (like if you're cold).

Drink the water first like tea until there is no taste you like AND THEN ADD MORE.. then at the end EAT the solids. Heating helps bring it out but some foods like oats don't even need - the room temperature and mixing is good (drinking liquid first and adding more water, then after eating oats).

(less land and money strain overall).

█Healthier in terms of digestion as body needs to break down less.
█Body is water ( 70%+/- !) and natural replacement and regeneration for it

Still ok to have lots of solids, just tease yourself more and more to find the right combination of crazy stuff knowing you can have it at the end
█ almost thinking of it as dieting or
█ cheating capitalism by having more water-fied food / liquids.

Like a hot soup is to vegetables but for everything. I don't mean just blasting it in a blender as you can eat it too much that way... has to be separate or easy to drink without it all going.

Must be a name for this type of submerging / milking / or soaking... :)

Things can be put into any pot of water and ideally heated almost to boil (I have wood stove so a big pot is on all the time, but even soaking a carrot or drinking boiled carrot juice works in something small works (even carrot in a kettle)

█ left in water is also to avoid you touching / eating it too quickly so it's also a self-check mechanism (with the water added in between to last longer or keep you moving around / not just eating from nervousness)

█ Like tea is. Make Liquid by mixing water in everything - all foods can be done the same (or almost all)

OTHER IDEAS:
█ olives

█ tomatoes chopped / blended to make base of juice

█ beetroot (juices from jars are usually sweet so this can be diluted and so can the beetroot after - not emptying juice or drinking it all at once! Dilute!)

█ anything in a vinegar

█ the tea leaves from boxes nobody ever touches + bit of sugar left over - even old tea bags died or not!

█ empty honey jar / honey combes or old jars filled with boiling water until honey or whatever in there is all gone.

█ even with sauces (dilute)
from over-spiced things to make less spicy (like from takeway food - often happens) but not just bland watery either (balance / push limits!)

█ meat and chicken also ok (not my first recommendation but if you drink more meaty juices than a bag of vegetables that it better in a few ways - especially if it would go to bio trash anyway)

█ Nettles - honestly the best and most available weed like drink best hot (like leaves of ganja, hemp, cannabis but more subtle - still a boost from it's green, and seed ok too... underestimated / dare you try boil water and let it sit or add in foods like spinach (is very close I've done half a bush in big pot and last ages and works like spinach with everything else throw in

█ fruit whole in a pot cooked (even orange peels or citrus peels can be put into water for hot or cool drink later rather than throw away - yes even with possible pesticides)

█ chopped cabbage (red especially or any dark food), same with diluting the supermarket juices that come with it or just half bake / boil a big piece of cabbage or all of it if you have a witches style pot / cauldron!

█ herbs - try them all heated and unheated - cheap bags of herb can last a while (but do try nettles literally put in whole or by holding the bottom of stem and with other hand running fingers- the leaves fall into pot but stem is ok too)

█ Kombucha style stuff (mushroom, tea fungus, yeast)

█ cucumbers + dill (often already in jars or with all that other mini salad stuff in jar dilute / make tea from it)

(last few seem more extreme but try them all or whenever you come across them and can save it for 'a test')

Heating constantly (especially in winter) means drinking warm liquid solves the craving to get warm because you are tempted to eat solids when cold trying to get warm so instead of overloading solids trying to get the body to convert to heat inside (or from nervous loading of food), just drink and keep busy with your day knowing you can top up (thermos useful).

A warm or hot drink in helps you last longer.
