Totally Tropical

Where do you think this location might be? White shell sand, blue sea, grassy dunes - Tahiti, perhaps? Seychelles?

Nope, it's the Outer Hebrides.

I particularly like this shot for the triangular geometry; the dunes stretching away to a central point, the sea on the right emerging from the same place and almost mirroring it, and a horizon line (just about) balancing both.

Big Sky over #Harris, from #Berneray taken back in 2003 after a stormy night that tested my tent to braking point.. but the cold front passed through and gave us the most stunning skies.

We traverse North Uist from south to north and then cross another causeway, this time to the island of Berneray in the Sound of Harris. Berneray is a beguilingly attractive place, with settlement only on its eastern side. Its entire west coast forms an amazing three mile long beach of white sand.
