The local heron population seems largely unperturbed by the increase in visitor numbers, tourists, traffic etc. recently and can often be spotted around, and flying over, the town.
This one, from the bridge on the accurately named "Bridge Road" was being a bit more elusive... for such a large bird

The sudden and heavy snowfall this evening turned the village almost monochrome. The traffic signals and the bark of the tree the only suggestion there was still colour in the world 🙂

An amazing sight today as an eagle landed on a tree near the forest track just ahead of us and was harassed by the local corvid population. It stood its ground (well, branch).
As usual, dog lead in one hand, phone in the other so, you know....not the best photo... You'll have to use your imagination to fill in the rest 😄
...Whenever I remember to take the camera and telephoto lens I see nothing like this 🤷♂️🙂

#Introduction (again, post-migration). I'm a retired #Environment / #RuralDevelopment person living in the inner #MorayFirth of the #HighlandsAndIslands #Scotland , mostly, and quite a lot of time in the #Minervois #France. My weakness has been the joy of writing #Fiction instead of policy papers, though it involves too much sitting down so now I go out on often fruitless #Photography expeditions. They're always great.
